LUTHERAN STUDENT FELLOWSHIP

Deaconess Shaina Mitchell is the Director of Campus Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church and the BSU Religious Adviser for LSF. Alongside BSU students, Dcs. Mitchell organizes and facilitates all LSF activities. Be sure to contact her if you'd like more info about LSF or if you would like to help organize an LSF activity! 

Dcs. Mitchell graduated in 2008 from Concordia Theological Seminary with a Master's of Arts in Religion and Deaconess certification. This means that Dcs. Mitchell is trained to apply solid Lutheran theology in diaconal acts of mercy and spiritual care. Pastor Kevin Karner is the Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Karner's vocation includes preaching, administering the Sacraments and catechizing. As many students are a great distance from their home churches and other students don't have affiliations with any congregation, Pastor Karner is available to all BSU students for pastoral care. 

Pastor Karner graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary with a Master's of Divinity and was ordained as an LCMS pastor in 1989. He is married to the lovely and talented Maggie Karner, with whom he enjoys the delights and chaos of parenting 3 daughters. Jessica Parks is the secretary of Grace Lutheran Church. When you call or visit the church office, Jessica will be happy to greet you, answer your questions and direct you wherever you might need to go.

Besides administrating the church office, Jessica also raises 2 sons, helps to plan the upcoming weddings of her 2 daughters and occasionally cruises on a Harley with her husband Gary.
