LUTHERAN STUDENT FELLOWSHIP

Deaconess Shaina Mitchell is the Director of Campus Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church and the BSU Religious Adviser for LSF. Alongside BSU students, Dcs. Mitchell organizes and facilitates all LSF activities. Be sure to contact her if you'd like more info about Lutheran Student Fellowship!

Dcs. Mitchell graduated in 2008 from Concordia Theological Seminary with an MA and Deaconess certification. This means that Dcs. Mitchell is trained to apply solid Lutheran theology in diaconal acts of mercy and spiritual care. Pastor Barnes graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary with a Master's of Divinity and was ordained in 1984.  As an LCMS pastor, his vocation of preaching, administering the Sacraments and catechizing has taken him around the world.  Pastor Barnes has served congregations in the United States and has also served as a missionary in Togo, West Africa and as an adjunct professor at Concordia Theological Seminary – Haiti. 

Currently, Pastor Barnes serves as Vacancy Pastor for Grace Lutheran Church, as the congregation continues the process to call a fulltime Pastor.  He and his wife Karen enjoy the blessings of 3 children. Pastor Barnes can be reached via e-mail at: michael.barnes@carrier.utc.com 

Besides administrating the church office, Jessica is also a wife and mother.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and 2 sons and cruising on a Harley with her husband Gary.
